Theres something so warm about the smell of those rolls with cinnamon filling . So soft and sweet, filled with cinnamon layers that you can tear apart, the kind of treat that makes weekends feel so special.
Ingredients:
2 ¾ cups flour
¼ cup sugar
2 ¼ ts instant yeast
2 large eggs
½ cup warm milk
2 tbs melted butter
1 ts vanilla extract
½ ts salt
For the filling:
½ cup brown sugar
2 ts cinnamon
4 tbs melted butter
For the glaze (optional):
½ cup powdered sugar
1–2 tbs milk
½ ts vanilla
Instructions:
In a large bowl mix flour sugar yeast and salt.
Now add the warm milk with melted butter the eggs and vanilla until the dough is elastic.
Cover and let it rise for a hour until it doubles its size.
In the meantime mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Once the dough has risen roll it out into a rectangle and brush it with melted butter.
Cut the dough into even strips stack them and cut again into squares.
Arrange the pieces in a greased loaf pan.
Let it rise again for 30 minutes and preheat the oven to 180°C.
Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and .
Mix the glaze ingredients and drizzle on top while still warm.
They are perfect for sharing. Serve warm and watch everyone reach for another piece.
